B&D Design Centre

Website Design & Development | Corporate

Homeowners, builders and designers can now take the guesswork out of how different garage doors look when matched to a home's external facade with the help of a new virtual modelling tool.
From today the new B&D Doors Australia website will include an interactive Design Centre that allows users to upload a photo of an existing home or choose from one of 15 preloaded house styles.
Users then select the size, model, style and colour of their desired B&D garage door in a step-by-step customisation process that allows them to visualise their combination and saves each design as changes are applied.
The finished design can then be sent to a B&D Doors dealer to initiate the specification process. It can also be printed, converted to PDF for emailing and be shared via social media.
B&D Doors Australia national marketing manager Stacey Smith said the Design Centre greatly simplified the decision-making process for customers by making the latest user-friendly visualisation tools available to them.
"The Online Visualiser provides an efficient way of accurately predicting how your B&D garage door will look with your home, without the guesswork and hassle of matching physical samples," she said.
"It's a powerful tool not only for new homeowners and developers but also for those in the renovation market who are seeking to match an updated facade with a new garage door, which can sometimes seem overwhelming."
The new Design Centre tool is one of a suite of online services provided in B&D's recent website upgrade and has been optimised to work across all platforms, including latest-generation computer devices such as Apple and Android tablets.
The Website Marketing Group developed B&D's new website and Design Centre. Managing director Michael Doyle said it has been developed to be compatible with a wide range of different devices.
"We aimed to create a site experience that would be a first-choice destination when selecting a garage door and that could be accessed from many types of computers," Mr Doyle said.
"Our use of HTML5 technology not only provides a graphically pleasing, intuitive design; it also means the Design Centre is compatible with more devices and there are fewer conflicts.
"For example, the Java and Flash technologies that underpin most online visualisers are not compatible with Apple mobile devices and can cause problems for some Windows-based PCs."
Mr Doyle said planning had begun for mobile application versions of the Design Centre.
B&D Doors Australia's new website also includes improved search capabilities, features and product listings.
