TWMG Wins Website Government Contract for the New ACARA Website


TWMG was the agency chosen to implement a website redesign for the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA), an independent statutory authority mandated to improve the education of all young Australians through world-class school curriculum, assessment and reporting.

ACARA The ACARA website revamp is the latest major project added to the long list of TWMG's clientele base of industry authorities and leaders, which includes government agencies and national organisations.

The project aims to improve the user experience offered by the ACARA website. Through intelligent design and reengineered functionality, it will allow the ACARA website to offer its audience a more attractive interface, clearer meaning and functionalities, and faster and more efficient delivery. Moreover, the redesign intends to increase the website's reach to the greater public, and to a wider range of tablet and mobile users.

The redesign intends to stay loyal to the branding guidelines of ACARA while improving the overall aesthetics of the site. A rotating banner, including an embedded video for the first slide, will be displayed on the homepage to ensure impact upon the visitor's arrival.

Current ACARA Website to be redeveloped by TWMGThe TWMG team will also improve the visibility and navigation of quicklinks, as these have been determined as the most important elements of the homepage. Likewise, the layout and formatting will be recalibrated for all the pages across the site, including News and Media, About Us, Curriculum, Reporting and Assessment pages.

Meanwhile, an audit will be implemented to improve the site's newsletter subscription feature as well as the integration of the Board member's login, Staff login and Employment sections. TWMG will also be adding social media integration for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.

The team designed the website to be responsive, to ensure that it looks and works right in most mobile devices. The site will satisfy the standards of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), meaning it will be developed to make content and functionality accessible across a broad range of users including people with disabilities or those using limited devices. Sitefinity, a platform developed by Telerik�, a leading vendor of enterprise software products, will installed for better content management and customer analytics.
