The Young Designers Market provides shoppers the opportunity to buy quality new styles from designers who are on their way to international stardom.

Objectives - Connecting Talented New Designers

The Website Marketing Group were commissioned to launch a blog site ensuring the best possible user experience for Brisbane's most talented new designers to be more connected to its customers. The website had three goals: to be the destination for viewing the latest new styles from young designers; to connect a community of 10,000 users using social interaction and networking features; and to generate sales by driving traffic to the site. 


The Website Marketing Group carried out comprehensive information architecture and interaction development to help ensure that the site will be focused around the needs of the user. This called for a distinct creative approach that would allow for effective information delivery and increased visibility, all while providing a portal for social interaction among users and between users and the brand.

This involved:

A website design that was both dynamic and innovative. The creative direction for the user interface was to be as friendly and artistic as possible. The arty design speaks to the community with its bold and high-impact font and iconography, imagery, multimedia, navigation and functionality.

Development of front-end and back-end functionality. For frontend performance enhancing, we optimised the site image assets and structured the JavaScript and CSS customised for every page. The technology behind YoungDesignersMarket.com.au is TWMG’s custom CMS tool. This tool allows easy updating of the site's content, SEO elements to boost traffic, and social networking features.

User interaction and social networking integration. The blog platform allows users to comment and share posts, join the mailing list, find stalls, check out special events, become a stallholder, enter promotions and more! The site also uses Facebook, YouTube and flickr integration to become a more actively integrated with existing social networks. 


The blog has received an enormous amount of exposure on the Web. The sheer volume of qualified, targeted traffic on a regular basis has made the blog a prominent name in fashion and design circles. It has also caught the attention of local and national media, creating quite a bit of buzz on the events and offerings promoted by the site. Today, the Young Designers Market continues to enjoy a strong, loyal following.
