TWMG Proudly Launches New Website for JELD-WEN Glass
Saturday, 20 June 2015
Global glass technology leader JELD-WEN Glass is kicking off exciting developments in their 9-year-old business with the launch of a brand new website that was designed, developed and powered by The Website Marketing Group using the enterprise content management system sitecore.
TWMG was commissioned to develop the new site, which now acts as the core component of the JELD-WEN Glass’ ongoing promotional campaign. This campaign aims to spread awareness about the company’s recent acquisition of state-of-the-art machinery that will allow them to manufacture their own products. In the past, their products are purchase internally from their sister businesses including Stegbar and Regency.
The main target audience of the new JELD-WEN Glass website are architects, specifiers, designers and the consumer, and this is clearly seen in the visual feel and direction of the website. Initial users of the website find it fast, easy to navigate, innovative, sharp and professional – the very characteristics that JELD-WEN Glass value and promote in their organisation.
The development team and the client collaborated on the website’s concept. The group wanted to create an unforgettable first impression, and so the homepage was designed a statement piece by itself. Sleek and captivating, it features stunning images occupying the entire screen and the logo perched on a highly visible but not too dominating position on the left side of the page. The effect is inspiring and aspirational – the visitor feels that they mustspecify JWG products in their projects, because other brands or options won’t suffice.
As the visitor navigates the site, features reveal themselves in an intuitive and interesting way. Hovering the mouse over an icon, for instance, will make the website menu appear. Meanwhile, the header displays quick links to the five main categories: About Us, Glass Services, Inspiration, Info Centre and Contact. Toggling the drop-down menus in the header will show the sub-categories, which are differentiated through a blinking colour-changing feature.
These interactive elements increase the visual appeal of the website, and heighten the perceived value of the brand. But they do not simply add visual impact. The TWMG team knows how design can be used to establish a more positive and helpful user experience. The graphic elements also worked as subtle but powerful tools to organise, display and deliver information that users need.
To offer further product information to users, the content strategy featured various formats – text, images, table and graphs, PDF links, and eventually, video. Through a cohesive and well-thought out information architecture, the website was able to present comprehensive technical information in the most efficient manner. To reach out to more users, the JELD-WEN Glass website was engineered to be 100% mobile-responsive. An SEO plan was also included in the development strategy, to further boost the site’s visibility.
“Like JELD-WEN Glass, we value innovation, creativity and inspiration. Developing the website for such an outstanding company was both a challenge and an opportunity for our team to interweave business sense with the latest in digital; marketing,” said Michael Doyle – MD.
